Komu found Cheeto in practice today. Weather: Wed, May 9, 2012 at 6:47 PM,
Now for Auburn, WA (98001)
Temp: 55°F
Feels like: 55°F
Cloudy
Humidity: 47%
Wind: NNW 10 mph
The wind actually shifted and gusted quite a bit. Sometimes there was no wind, then it would come from the east, then the west. While Bonnie was working Rita, I felt the gust of wind just as Rita put her nose in the air indicating she smelled Cheeto.
Komu worked eagerly. He followed my commands to work in one direction or another. I worked him about ten or fifteen minutes before getting close to Cheeto. He went right into the bushes without hesitation. He did not pick up Cheeto's scent until he was within about twenty feet, if I recall correctly. I didn't feel any wind at that moment. Komu overshot the carrier on the picnic table, although you could see he was definitely on to it. He worked his way back, and he whined softly when he located the carrier with Cheeto in it. Then he barked to demand his treats, hot dogs.
