Training at Five Mile Lake, February 18th 2012.

This was Komu's third time searching at Five Mile Lake.  He get's very excited when we come to this park.  I worked him about ten minutes before we got in the zone of Myron, the target cat.  I worked him upwind of Myron, to prevent Komu from finding the kitty too fast, and then I circled around into the scent cone on the north side of Myron.  Komu caught the scent from about 30 or 40 feet away because of the high winds.  Komu had been working with his head on the ground, but his head came up when he caught the scent plume.  He pulled hard toward Myron, and when we got close, he checked up high on the table and the fireplace before finding Myron on the next table.  He whined when he found Myron, and there was no doubt he had found a cat.  I rewarded him with hotdogs or cheese, I forget which.  We searched at about 10:30 AM, in the south end of the park.
